Victims and Suspect in LeMars Hy-Vee Robbery Identified

Authorities have identified the victims and suspect in a shooting at a Hy-Vee gas station in Le Mars on Sunday.
The Le Mars Police Department has identified the victims as 18-year-old Faith Laskie and 29-year-old Ashley Storesund. Police say both are in stable condition. The suspect was identified as Oscar Gutierrez.
According to police, Gutierrez entered the Hy-Vee gas station shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday. Gutierrez displayed a 9mm handgun and demanded money from Laskie and Storesund before shooting both of them in the abdomen.
Police say Laskie and Storesund were attended to by an off duty nurse and a Hy-Vee employee who is an EMT.
Both victims were initially taken to Floyd Valley Hospital before they were taken to Mercy One in Sioux City.
Shortly after 8 o’clock Sunday morning, police were informed Gutierrez was found by South Sioux City Police dead inside his vehicle from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Le Mars Police Department continues to investigate the crime.
