Illinois land values jump 26% in 2021

The 2021 Illinois Land Values Report shows a 26% increase in Class A farmland from 2020.

Luke Worrell, owner of Worrell Land Services in Jacksonville describes the market as “wild” and tells Brownfield the report actually shows significant increases for all types of land.

“Class B acreage was up 24%. Land we would define as average was up 21%. We even saw an 11% increase across the state for recreational acreage, farms with something like hunting ground or pasture.”

And along with higher land values came a nearly 20% increase in cash rents.
