Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions from the Ozark Plateau into the middle Mississippi Valley and along the Canadian border from Washington to northwestern Montana.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation from the Pacific Coast to the Plains should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather east of the Mississippi River.
